 The Community of Communes of the Moyenne Durance gathers 7 communes of the Val de Durance.With 13,000 inhabitants, this community represents 10% of the Alps of Haute Provence population. It is a Public Establishment of Intercommunal Cooperation with its own tax system.
All the major powers of the member communes are transferred to the Community.
Its deliberative assembly consists of 4 representatives of each commune, that is 28 councillors.
