Historical heritage

Many sites show traces of the rich past of our seven villages.
Medieval or Renaissance castles, Romanesque chapels, plasterstones, magnificent hand-carved doors, fountains, mullion windows, dovecots, there are many misteries to explore in our villages...
You can also choose to follow the way of the ancient Domitian road !

An exceptional natural environment

This is the country of age-old olive groves and grey donkeys, this is Jean Giono's Haute Provence...
This hiking country is criss-crossed by many paths where forest massifs alternate with lavender fields.
Nowadays, the Durance river is no longer navigable but an artificial (not made-up) lake of 500 acres has become a paradise for fishermen and birds. This real ornithological reserve gathers about 250 bird species.

A traditional heritage

Here, traditions are still alive! From country markets to Provençal fairs, craftsmen use techniques of yesteryear and the "dansaïres" dance to the sound of gaboulets and small drums.

The terroir tastes good in Val de Durance !

As a gastronomic crossroads, the Val de Durance awakens our senses with some highly Provençal specialities: lamb meat, mushrooms, truffles, olive oil, goat cheeses, hillside wines, lavender honey and almond-based sweets.
